Loved this read! Shared this with several of my elementary classes in library rotation, and the kids loved Higginbloom and his silly day. The thought-provoking questions on each page helped the kids connect personally with Higginbloom and his feelings. Then, the bee's silly adventure had my classes standing and dancing right along with Higginbloom. I'm sure this will be a book I read quite often in the library throughout the years. Perfect read aloud material!!
The "Buzz" on this one in our household is Great! My Son loved HIGGENBLOOM AND THE DANCING GRANDMAS so much that he is already ready for the next Higgenbloom Adventure! We need more fun children's books like this one! Colorful Illustrations compliment this enjoyable read! I'm sure we'll be reading this one again and again! Big Thumbs Up!
What can be said about Higgenbloom and the Dancing Grandmas? A lot!
I love that this story celebrates fun and individuality, encourages children to be a part of the adventure and wraps it all in an beautifully illustrated package.
I know if I'd read this book as a child I would have been enchanted, so if you happen to have a little person in the house, or know someone who does, I'd encourage you to purchase this book and let them embrace adorable Higgenbloom for themselves. I think this is a book that little kids will want to read time and time again.
All kids will relate to Higgenbloom the Honey Bee. My niece and nephew sure did. We talked a lot as we read the book thanks to the interactive questions the author included. They knew just how he felt when he wanted to fly around and be silly when he should be collecting pollen, and they could feel his insecurity when he wasn't accepted by the other bees. And I absolutely love that when he found his tribe, they were a bunch of dancing grandmas!! This book teaches subtle lessons about not being afraid of the bees, being accepting of being yourself, and that grandmas can be cool and boogie down! A great story...get it and share it with your favorite kiddos!
Cute,cute, cute. I loved the story and the questions asked. It really gets the child involved by answering the questions. I would recommend this to all kids. 5star rating!!!!
I absolutely LOVED this book. The story and the illustrations were captivating. I loved the questions asked on some of the pages to get the reader (or listener) involved in the story themselves. A must have book for parents and teachers.
