Alright, I have been going through these books a little too quickly. They are just so fast paced, I cannot put them down! The only downside to this book was that I feel like the beginning and the end had a lot of action and kept me reading on, but the middle was a little slow. I think I am also disheartened by the whole Faith & Marc relationship, I just wish those two could work it out, but I am afraid their timing is just so terrible. I am already hating Calvin and I think this is just the beginning of his malice behavior so I would like to see who gets the pleasure of getting rid of that guy, well hopefully someone will. I am completely in Faythe's corner, she is so stubborn and doesn't know when to be quiet, but I love her!! I cannot wait to start reading Prey and see what Faythe does next!

this story is a better read than some give credit.I think the series has potential to be very very good and the romance gets better as you read on.give it a try is my thinking.

Pride was a very fun and fast-paced novel. It is the third novel in the Shifter Series by Rachel Vincent, after Rogue, and Stray. Faythe Sanders, a teenage female werecat, has committed a crime that is a capital offense in her world infecting a human and she is being accused of killing him to cover it up. However, she did infect him, but killing him was self-defense. If you read Rogue, you would have the story and I recommend reading the series in order. During her trial, a pack of rogue cats are creating trouble for the local populace. Faythe and the other werecats have to find out why.

Overall, I liked the book. I really hated the Malone guy (which I think was the point). I get the political under (over) tones, but honestly, if her father was able to get her to demonstrate the ability, then why not get her to do it again. The trial would have been over from the beginning. So the rest of it doesn't make sense. Interesting situation but somehow a bit implassable. Outside of stretching reality of werecats.
I could not put this one down. Faythe is in serious trouble, and the council are for the most part a bunch of old men stuck in their ways. They want her to conform to the way they want her to be, threatening to give her the death sentence at every turn. She realizes how much she loves Marc, and the old men get in the way. I cannot wait to read the next book.
I read a lot of books, mostly for enjoyment. My favorites are in line with sci-fi, mystery, romance. I started this Rachel Vincent series recently, but was wary because the back cover of the first book sounded a bit cheesy. I was pleasantly surprised. Rachel Vincent is a very talented writer, and she keeps you continuously entertained. I have read 4-1/2 of the books in the past month, continuing a busy schedule of work, school and 2 little boys. I have a hard time putting this series down. I am looking forward to starting the 5th book, and finishing with the 6th and final book, which comes out in August.
If you are looking for a young, strong heroine, with a twist to her love life, this is the book series for you!
